Jobs We Do / Electrics : PAT Testing
Employers and Landlords are legally obliged to ensure that electrical equipment used by their employees or tenants is safe to use. Regular PAT testing (PAT = portable appliance test) is the best way to demonstrate compliance with the applicable legislation for portable appliances: these include computers, printers, photocopiers, desk lamps, microwaves, kettles, fridges etc. The tests we carry out are: visual inspection, earth continuity, insulation resistance, polarity and earth leakage. We use qualified electricians to undertake the tests ensuring you have complete peace of mind.
As ever, we prefer to focus on the small jobs, so are happy to come out and test just a handful of appliances, unlike specialist PAT testing companies that like to test 1,000+ appliances in each visit!
The process
- You tell us how many appliances need testing and we will tell you the cost!
- If you are happy with the price, we will confirm an appointment time
- Our engineer will come to site and test your portable electrical appliances
- After the test, each appliance will be marked with a sticker showing the test date and the result (pass or fail)
- Failed appliances should be taken out of service, although in some instances we may be able to repair a failed appliance on site
- We will email you a certificate confirming the results of the tests
- We can then set up an annual recurring appointment for the future so you don't need to remember!
We will need to unplug the appliance in order to run the tests, so book us in when this is not going to be inconvenient!
